PLATFORM

“After strong support at home, the most important factor in a student's success is the human being standing at the front of the classroom. Everything I believe about education begins there.”

  • Our classrooms are not the place for partisan battles. They are where our children learn and build their futures.

Public education works best when we focus on what helps students succeed, supports teachers, and strengthens families. School board decisions should be guided by evidence, experience, and outcomes, not political ideology. I believe people of different backgrounds and viewpoints can come together around a common goal: preparing every student for success.

    My Commitment:

    • Focus on student outcomes, not political agendas

    • Listen to parents, teachers, and community members

    • Make decisions based on what works for students

  • “Every board decision eventually reaches a classroom.”

Every policy, budget decision, and strategic initiative ultimately impacts students and teachers. Before approving any major initiative, we should ask a simple question:

How will this help the students and teachers in our classrooms?

I believe resources should be directed first to the people and programs that directly support teaching and learning.

    My Commitment:

    • Put students and teachers at the center of decision making

    • Reduce unnecessary bureaucracy

    • Focus resources where they have the greatest classroom impact

  • “After strong support at home, the most important factor in a student's success is the human being standing at the front of the classroom.”

Our district faces a teacher attrition crisis. Retaining great teachers must be our highest operational priority. Compensation matters, but teachers also deserve respect, support, and professional autonomy.

The best teacher recruitment strategy is retaining the outstanding educators we already have. My years in business taught me something educators already know: retaining great people is far easier, less expensive, and more effective than replacing them. If we want stronger schools, we must start by keeping our best teachers in the classroom.

    My Commitment:

    • Support competitive compensation

    • Advocate for teacher autonomy and respect

    • Create conditions that encourage great teachers to stay

  • “Many of the challenges we try to solve in high school begin in kindergarten… or before.”

If we want better outcomes, we must invest earlier. Early childhood education, voluntary pre-kindergarten, and early literacy are among the most powerful tools available to improve student success.

Students who read proficiently by third grade are dramatically more likely to succeed throughout their educational journey.

    My Commitment:

    • Expand access to high-quality early learning opportunities

    • Support voluntary pre-kindergarten programs

    • Prioritize literacy and foundational learning

  • “Strong schools require both educational leadership and responsible stewardship of public resources.”

My background is unique among school board candidates. I spent more than a decade as a teacher and coach, served in school leadership roles, chaired major educational nonprofits, and built a career in business, finance, and corporate governance.

I helped guide a startup company through a successful Wall Street IPO and have served as a fiduciary responsible for overseeing large budgets, complex organizations, and long-term strategic planning.

A school district is both an educational institution and one of the largest and most complex organizations in our community. Effective governance requires leaders who understand both.

    My Commitment:

    • Be a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars

    • Ensure transparency and accountability

    • Bring proven governance and fiduciary experience to the board
